One blog, multiple authors
Posted: 13 Oct 05 5:00 AM (United States) Modified By ejstrehl on 10/13/2005 5:01:10 AM)

Greetings;

I gather this forum is where we might put requests, thoughts, etc on expanding NewBlog?

I've set up a DNN (3.1.1) with NewBlog (03.01.18). Works great so far, but I would like to know if it's possible to set up a blog with more than one author? Both my wife & I will be making entries to the same blog, and it'd be less confusing if that could be set up to handle that (I have to log in as her currently). It looks like the current table structure wouldn't support it, but why have the "posted by" text show if you weren't thinking about it? :)

Thanks,
Eric Strehl

Eric,

the main idea of NewBlog is to have a personal blog and every personal blog can have as many child blogs as the user like.

If you and your wife has his/her personal blog each of you can post their blog entries, and in the "most recent entries" view and in the archive view the blogs for each user will be shown.

Can you give me a hint what should be the advantage that multiple users can post entries to a shared blog ?

Regards

HP

Thanks for the reply, HP.

I figured the child-blog would be the way to go; was just trying to keep this simple for our viewers, some of whom will be decidedly non-techie. We're posting a blog to keep our family informed of the status of our son's medical treatment. Most of the time, my wife will be making entries, so I set her up as the author of the blog. But I need to post some entries as well. I am afraid "grandpa" and "great-aunt-whatshername" might be confused about seeing the multiple blogs, nd not be able to see the whole story.

Regards,

Eric

Eric,

I understand, but there is only the option to add a user which is called "mom and dad" and both of you post these kind of blog entries at this user.

Maybe in future version a multi user blog will be available, for now I must say sorry.

HP

And all the best wished for your child
